Heledd Williams is a senior events and destination professional with international experience spanning Rome, Sydney, New York City and Cardiff. With a strong belief in the power of place and people, she has built a career shaping meaningful events and destination experiences that create long-term value for communities and partners alike.
Her experience includes senior delivery roles across four Ryder Cups (2006, 2008, 2010 and 2014), as well as collaborations with global organizers on landmark events such as WOMEX 2013, Rugby World Cup 2015, the UEFA Champions League Final 2017 and the Volvo Ocean Race 2018. Working across both the public and private sectors, Heledd is a trusted industry lead, known for building productive relationships with buyers, suppliers and stakeholders, and for using authentic storytelling to position destinations with clarity and confidence.
Heledd currently leads the Business Events team for the Welsh Government and serves as the national lead for Wales in the business events and meetings sector. Her work spans destination management, thought leadership, sectoral and REF alignment, ambassador programs, and the attraction of high-value business events that bring together academia, industry and government to deliver lasting economic and reputational impact for Wales.
Originally from Aberystwyth, Heledd is a fluent Welsh speaker and a proud advocate for Welsh culture—once even teaching Sir Mick Jagger a few phrases.
