Founder, Director
4D Lean
Jim Lippens is the founder of the Happiness At Work Experience, an employee engagement event, and the creator of the 4D Lean model.
With 22 years' industrial leadership experience, Jim has led teams through organizational transformation, including turning a department set for closure into the plant’s top profit contributor. By focusing on trust, autonomy, belonging and purpose, his team—representing 10% of the workforce—delivered 85% of total plant profit without financial investment.
Jim now applies these insights through the 4D Lean framework, a measurable and scalable approach that connects emotional intelligence with performance. His work includes digital culture scans and multi‑sensory well-being interventions developed with Jeena Earthiva, designed to help teams shift mindset and improve engagement.
For event professionals and leaders addressing burnout, disengagement, and retention challenges, Jim’s approach offers practical ways to design well-being experiences that support sustainable impact. His long‑term goal is to positively influence 10 million lives by 2035.
