Johanna Roodt is an event manager, association leader, and frugal event design and well-being consultant focused on integrating well-being into every aspect of event life—from teams and timelines to venues and the attendee experience.
Johanna leads the largest team at the European Association of Research Managers and Administrators (EARMA), where she oversees most of the organization’s operations and its annual conference, which attracts more than 2,200 participants.
With over 15 years' global event experience across sectors and formats, Johanna combines industry knowledge with her long-standing commitment to well-being. She has served as a school well-being representative, owned a yoga and wellness business, and is a certified Mental Health First Aider, Instructor,and internationally recognized coach.
Johanna developed the first CPD‑certified Mental Wellbeing Certification for Event Professionals—a practical training program designed for teams, venues, agencies and freelancers who want to build healthier, more sustainable ways of working. She also founded the Event Managers Exchange, a global, sales‑free mastermind community for event professionals.
Committed to supporting emerging talent, Johanna lectures on university event management courses, mentors through Elevate and BEFuture, and speaks regularly at industry events including IMEX, PCMA, ICCA and ESAE.
